Last week we had breakfast with Dr. Mark Canada, Chancellor of IUK, who gave us plenty of food for thought (pun intended)! The theme of his talk was "opportunity," and he shared some great insights:

Opportunity to Connect: You never know what’s on the other side of the door.
Opportunity to Learn: Take notes and learn something new every day.
Opportunity to DO: Taking action opens up even more doors.

Dr. Canada also showed off his memory skills by learning all of our names within the first 10 minutes — talk about making connections! We also heard from Admissions Counselor Paxtyn Bailey, who shared her journey as a former IUK student and how she got to where she is today. Both speakers reminded us of the value in stepping out of our comfort zones and embracing the opportunity to grow, even if failure is part of the process.
